we are here for you

Our support programs are here to position you for a better tomorrow.

CAREER

Everyone deserves the right to a livable wage. With health and education addressed through our other offerings, our clients are positioned to enter the workforce on more equal footing. From free haircuts to appropriate clothing for interviews through to knowledge on workplace etiquette, we prepare clients to raise their authentic selves to a professional level from which they can thrive in the workplace. Our services include resume writing, matching clients to jobs for which they are suited, and support through the full job application process.

HOUSING

Without a clean, safe home base, no one can be expected to thrive. We aim to present alternatives to our current shelter system which poses numerous concerns for a very large percentage of our clients.  Recognizing that housing is a basic human right for everyone, we have a tremendous amount of passion for getting involved in this space.  We are making our way along the path to offering new solutions for our community. Watch this space!

GED PROGRAM

Across all age groups, we’ve identified areas our clients must attain skills: managing finances, completing basic education, and preparing for the workplace. We remind clients who have been mistreated in mainstream systems, and who therefore have disengaged, that education is a right to which they are entitled, that can open up the world’s opportunities for them.  We offer a GED program, a four-week career readiness program and workforce preparation education.

DROP-IN CENTER

It is our mission to hold space for our community members. We receive intakes by appointment & walk-in during business hours (11 AM – 7 PM). Drop in for a weekday visit 4 PM – 7 PM or on Saturday afternoons to browse our clothing exchange for casual & business wear, get a fresh haircut, and stock up on personal hygiene products.

Discussions that R.E.A.L

Dynamic community conversations happen in spaces carved for us by us. Led by queer and transgender facilitators, our meet-ups offer opportunities for folks to build together through shared lived experience, via creative expression (Healing Through the Arts), and addressing mental health, identity and shared lives experience (Real Talk.com, Bois Do Cry, #4UBU and the Love Seat) among peers.

Career Readiness the Right Way

Ready to work? Enroll in our Career Readiness program to sharpen your job interview skills and receive professional development training. With an ear to the ground, our Job Access Specialist (in partnership with WorkForce1) assists community members in their search for sustaining, gainful employment.

HEALTHCARE

We elevate conventional healthcare, making our clients feel safe and supported and helping them understand their right to healthcare. Most critically, this occurs in an environment where they’re treated with respect and dignity. Our offerings include everything from HIV and Hep C screenings, to needle exchanges, to workshops exploring sexual and gender identity and how to give our clients voice to advocate for themselves.

EDUCATION

Across all age groups, we’ve identified areas our clients must attain skills: managing finances, completing basic education, and preparing for the workplace. We remind clients who have been mistreated in mainstream systems, and who therefore have disengaged, that education is a right to which they are entitled, that can open up the world’s opportunities for them.  We offer a GED program, a four-week career readiness program and workforce preparation education.
